ICON Clinical Pharmacology Unit

ICON Development Solutions opened their new, purpose-built Clinical Pharmacology Unit in 2010, located at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

ICON is a contract research organisation, providing global development services to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries. Their 34-bed unit aims to use translational medicine to speed up the development of new drugs, benefitting patients as quickly as possible.

 The team have already seen enormous benefits from being an integral part of the Central Manchester University Hospitals’ site, with high numbers of healthy volunteers recruited to take part in studies and several visits from leading industry organisations.
